Amblypterus SP.

This fossil is the Amblypterus Sp, this prehistoric fish existed roughly 280 million years ago. It ls described as a ray-finned fish that lived during the Cisuralian (lower Permian) epoch in what is now Europe (Czech Republic, France, Germany, Switzerland) and possibly India and Argentina.
It was about 15cm long and mainly fed on insects and algea- its jaws were armed with relatively large, sharp teeth and the surfaces of the scales bear one or two sharply pointed tubercles- this fish existed when Pangea the supercontinent which lasted till the mid Jurassic period when it then began to breakup into continents throughout the Jurassic and Cretaceous period.
